Babies First Foods
There’s a lot of information out there about baby food and first foods. We have done baby led weaning with all our kids and I’m proud to say we have the best little eaters.
These are the first foods that we have introduced to our babies. Our babies were early teethers and could fully sit up before introduction. You want to make sure babies can bring their hands to their mouth and can fully sit up before introducing any solid foods.
1)egg yolk (hard boil to an egg to a medium consistency and dump out the yolk on their tray and they dip fingers in it) (around 4 months, depends on development)
2)avocado (around 4 months)
3)liver (around 6 months+)
4)bone broth (in a bottle)
+banana
These foods are easy to swallow and are full of protein, fats, vitamins and minerals.
We have never served rice/oat cereals or cows milk to any of our kids. We looked into both of them and we decided against those foods in their diets. Children actually don’t have the ability to digest grains before the age of 18 months (they do not have the digestive enzymes). Kinda makes you wonder why they are even on our shelves right?
I also don’t believe in restriction so yes our kids eat lollipops, ice cream and are allowed to drink milk, it’s just not the foundation of their diet .
These are the nutrition choices we have made for our kids so I thought I would share as we have had great success with it🤍.
I recommend checking out Weston A Price foundation (westonaprice.org) as a great resource and for further education if this interests you!
